Creative Breif
Chatsworth Products’ (CPI) main trade show booth has always performed well at BICSI, the largest trade show the company participated in. Ahead of the Spring conference, the company had made quite a few innovations that they wanted to show off. Instead of building out a completely new booth design, then plan was to reorganize the layout to accommodate the featured products and reskin the booth graphics.

Challenges
- Physical products took up the majority of the booth space. All graphics would need to work around and compliment them.
- The previous design left the interior of the booth a bit dark.
- This audience knows CPI well. Needed a plan to draw attendees into the booth to show off the new products and not just sign up for a product catalog.

Results
- Worked with all the Product Managers and our Trade Show Property team to create a functional layout.
- Found opportunities to lighten up the space through design and other elements.
- Equipped the face of the booth with 3 large monitors with graphics that promoted CPI’s new product innovations.
- Supporting staff engaged with people passing by and funneled them into conversations with our Product Managers and experts within the booth.
An interactive booth design for customers to see the products firsthand with the added value of discussing their needs and specifications directly with CPI’s experts.
The eConnect PDU display was fully connected and placed front and center. It was paired with a monitor on the back wall to perform a live product demo of all the different models. The RMR line was placed on a pedestal on the open side along with information on all available models to capture aisle traffic. Cable managers were placed on the other side with inset panels that talked about the features of each one. Each zone had a product manager or expert available to speak directly with clients. Other personnel were staggered around the booth to engage with attendees as they passed by to try and draw interest into the booth and set up our product experts.
From a booth design perspective, a lighter design was chosen overall along with back lights for the back wall and overhead graphics to make the space brighter. Additionally, 3 TVs we placed on the front of the booth that each had rotating messaging to address the show’s 3 main audiences CPI was targeting.
This booth design was so successful that it was used for the next 3 years with very minor updates. The main wins that were noted was the ability for attendees to live demo with the eConnect power wall, not relying on the event space’s lighting and incorporating our own, utilizing the TV monitors on the outside of the booth to draw in attendees, and our funnel system to get attendees talking with the appropriate product expert for their needs.
